Florida Gael was founded by Oisín Ó Ruacháinn in late 2020, with its first edition publishing in January 2021. The original idea was to create a state-wide newspaper for all things Gaelic around Florida. As Ó Ruacháinn has been a lifelong proponent of Irish culture (and an historian of Irish history), he decided to create Florida Gael as both a news resource for Gaelic and Celtic interest groups around Florida, and as a way to gather together these various Gaelic communities from around the state.

While Florida Gael is currently only available online, we are looking to expand into print in the future-- hopefully at your nearest pub!
